"The ALDE Group of the Parliamentary Assembly would like to invite you to a round table discussion “Witnesses of Maidan” which will take place at 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday 30 September in room 5. Jordi Xuclà, President of ALDE, will chair the discussion. Mailis Reps, co-Rapporteur on Ukraine of the Monitoring Committee, will share her observations.
The images of the popular upraise in Kyiv and its violent dispersal on 18-20 February 2014 have marked us all. The round table will bring together parliamentarians, Assembly Rapporteurs, human rights defenders and civic activists from Ukraine to share what they saw on Maidan during these days.
We invite all interested to join the round table which will also feature parts of a documentary “Celestial hundred” presented to the International human rights film festival. Members of the Parliamentary Assembly and Permanent Representations, secretariat of the Council of Europe, human rights NGOs and the press are welcome to attend the debate. Please feel free to pass this information around.
